Three-Way Good (Sanpou Yoshi)
Seller good, buyer good, society good. The Edo-era Omi merchants' philosophy. NameGood's brand inherits this spirit.
What is Sanpou Yoshi (Three-Way Good)?
Sanpou Yoshi is the management philosophy of the Omi merchants, who flourished from the Edo period through early Meiji (modern-day Shiga Prefecture).
The Three Sides
- Seller good — the merchant profits
- Buyer good — the customer is satisfied
- Society good — the wider community benefits
When all three align, business endures.
Modern Relevance
300 years later, this philosophy is referenced as a precursor to SDGs, stakeholder capitalism, and ESG management — Japan's gift to global business thought.
How NameGood Inherits It
We reinterpreted Sanpou Yoshi for the AI era as "NameGood":
- Name good — Remember and call others by name worthy of the relationship
- Name good — Maintain your own presence so your name lands correctly
- Name good — Where names meet names, AI supports the depth
